FAT COW
Conventional wisdom tells us that nothing is certain except death and
taxes, but for most of us that is not enough. Wouldn’t you like to be
just as sure about where you stand with God? That’s what the
Thessalonians were looking for, and Paul’s letters to them can help you
find that assurance as well.
The
next couple of meetings we’ll be going through 1 & 2 Thessalonians,
which is a great book to follow onto after what we learned in
Revelation during the FATCOW retreat.
Here is the long awaited calendar for FATCOW 2009!
As you can see, we are meeting every month for bible studies, with several social activities already pencilled. Mark your calendars, and come along to this years FATCOW events!
Well...umm... not really
FATCOW is an acronym for Faithful, Available, Teachable, Christ Orientated Women.
Just a name change, but hopefully the changes will make this group FATter and more COW like.
Last week we discussed Feminism - what it's about and which side of the fence should Christian women stand on this important issue.
See attached document for more details on what was discussed.
It's time for our annual adventure to a land far far away! We anticipate the getaway will be held during January 2008 over a weekend where we will relax, pray and read the bible together! We are still in the planning phase so we would appreciate any suggestions for places to go or things to do for our getaway. Suggestions are welcome at girlsgroup.admin@gmail.com
As godly daughters of Christ, we will learn what it takes to be godly women in our new bible study series. We will be using the book Disciplines of a Godly Woman by Barbara Hughes during our bible study.
The topics will cover discipline, prayer, character and good deeds, just to name a few. If you would like to purchase a copy of the book, email girlsgroup.admin@gmail.com and we can organise to purchase a copy for you.
As we delve into the word of God we will be challenged by the truths about what it costs to be considered a child of God - but also be amazed at the blessings that our heavenly Father gives us as we humble ourselves before him.
The calendar for Girls' Group has now been finalised (please see the attachment).
This year bible studies will commence 2pm on alternate Sundays starting this Sunday 25 February, 2007. We will have a fixed venue for bible study to be held at Church this year at one of the rooms on the upper floor (its room U3).
Who are we?
FAT COW is a group of girls who serve each other through fellowship & learning from God's word together, living joyfully & seeking opportunities to show God's heart both within the church and in our communities. We meet fortnightly on Saturday 5:30pm /Sunday 2pm (depending if it's an outing/serving day) either at a girl's house, or at the church.
