Report from EMC Meeting on 1 August 2004; Update on Foundations Project
The EMC met on 1 August 2004 to discuss administrative matters. Read on for a summary report.
In other news, a major milestone was reached in the Foundations Project, which began work in early 2003, with the launch of the English Ministry Document Repository. The repository contains some of the tangible results from the Foundations Project—a description of who we are and what we do. Again, read on for more details.

English Ministry Document Repository
If you think back a long, long time ago, you would have remembered the Foundations Project that the EMC started in early 2003. You would have remembered EMC people sharing a number of times last year about what the Foundations Project is all about and some of the results.
A lot of discussions have taken place during that time, both within the EMC and also with the Deacon Board. We are now in a position to release to everyone, for the first time, some of the fruits from the project.
You will find in the English Ministry Document Repository a number of documents (known as English Ministry Discussions, or EMDs) that describe who the English Congregation is and how we serve one another. These include:
- EMD 10 Manifesto of the English Ministry, which describes our purpose of meeting as the English Congregation, and some of the general principles of how we serve each other;
- EMD 12 Key Qualities of Leaders in the English Ministry, which describes, well, the key qualities that are expected of people who serve in the English Congregation; and
- EMD 11 Charter of the English Ministry Committee and EMD 13 Frequently Asked Questions about the EMC, which describe what the EMC is and how it functions.
Please continue to pray for the EMC members as they undertake this project. Pray that God may guide the EMC members to understand better who the English Congregation is, and how everyone in the Congregation can serve and build up each other to his glory.
