As part of the work following from the 2020 Summit, we are seeking expression of interest from you about joining the 2020 Planning Group. Please click the link below to read more about this Group, and how you can join.

What is the purpose of this Group?

  1. This group is to pray, discuss and identify future direction and ministries based on input from the congregation, and the understanding of our needs, strengths, limitations and passions.
  2. Once a high level ministry direction is set, the group will proceed to set goals and outline plans and strategies to achieve them and present them to the elders for approval.
  3. At the same time, existing ministries may be streamlined to re-align with the overall ministry direction, subject to approval by the elders.

Who can or should join this Group?

  1. Whoever currently is a leader in any ministry or whoever has a passion in ministry planning, is eligible to join this group. The Group will be composed of a mixture of EMC members and other members from the English Congregation. Alex (as the pastor for the English Ministry) and Clarence (as the elder of the English Ministry) are ex officio members.
  2. The size of this committee will be 8 (not including Alex and Clarence).
  3. For those who is interested to join, it is important that he or she has no plan to leave NSCAC in the coming three years.
  4. If there are more than 8 people who show interest in joining, there may be a process whereby 8 people are selected (probably an interview by Alex and Clarence).

How long will this Group last?

  1. The commitment is 1 year.
  2. If required, the commitment may be extended.

What is required of me if I join?

  1. The first kick off meeting will be 9 August, Saturday, 10am to 3pm.
  2. There will be at least 1 meeting per month, and some planning sessions may require a full-day participation.
  3. It is expected that you attend most of the planning sessions and meetings.
